A user’s guide and supporting materials that give analysts the underlying data to use, update, and extend the quantitative long-term budget analyses conducted for the report Choosing the Nation’s Fiscal Future are now available. Much like our visual budget tool, this raw data can be used to graphically illustrate how budget decisions made now will affect future deficits and spending.

Spreadsheet that estimates the study’s approximately 10- and 75-year budget baselines.

Baseline display spreadsheet
Paralleling the four spreadsheets below, this spreadsheet projects and displays the federal budget assuming that spending and revenues follow the baseline.

Spreadsheet for the “low” path
Projects and displays the study’s illustrative, sustainable path of “low” spending and revenues.

Spreadsheet for the “intermediate-1″ path
